Notification
on
Khmer Traditional New Year Holiday
Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training informs all owners or managers of enterprises/establishments under the provisions of Labor Law that based on Labor Law and the Prakas of the Ministry No. 493 កប/ ប.ក.អ. .ក dated December 01, 2017 on the paid holiday of 2018, kindly permit all the workers/employers to have paid holiday in the upcoming Khmer New Year for 4 days, i.e. the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th of April 2018, replacing the 15th of April which is the Sunday.
The Ministry would like to emphasize that in case of being unable to stop your operation on the upcoming Khmer New Year’s Days, owners or managers of enterprises/establishments shall coordinate with employees for voluntary work and divide suitable time and festival holiday.
Workers/employees working on this New Year are entitled to additional severance pay equal to normal working day wage.
If possible, the owners or managers of enterprise/establishments should prepare various amusement games in respective enterprises/establishments to welcome the New Year and encourage the workers/employees who have performed their so far.
The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training strongly believes that all ladies and gentlemen as owners or managers of enterprises/establishments will properly implement this notification.
