NSSF's Instruction on "Rights to Receive Maternity Benefit for Members of NSSF Who Deliver Their Babies at Health Facilities Which do not have Any Agreement with NSSF"

Recently, National Social Security Fund (NSSF) announces to all owners or directors of enterprises, establishments and all members of NSSF, who register health care insurance scheme with National Social Security Fund that  members of NSSF who deliver their babies at health facilities which do not have any agreement with NSSF, regardless of emergency or not emergency cases but have completed the obligation of having paid for health care insurance for at least 9 months, can claim for daily pay during taking their maternity leave from NSSF, but only if they come to health checkup after the delivery with only health facility that has agreement with NSSF.

Notification On Holiday on Khmer New year Day



The Ministry of Labour and Vocationial Training (MoLVT) has issued an announcement No. 049/17 on Khmer New Year’s Day. According to this announcement, MoLVT would like to inform owners or directors of enterprise under the labor law that according to the labor law and Prakas No. 466 KB/Prk dated 03 November 2016 on Paid Public Holiday for 2017, owners or directors of enterprise shall allow their workers to take paid days-off in the upcoming occasions of Khmer New Year lasting four days from 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th April 2017.

Anyway, in the event of necessity that the enterprise may not be able to cease its operation in such occasions, owners or directors of enterprise shall negotiate with workers in voluntary basis, and allocate to have suitable public holidays.

Workers who work on Khmer New Year’s Day shall be entitled to a lump sum equal to the wage paid on normal working day.

If possible, owners or directors of enterprise should prepare traditional games in enterprise to welcome Khmer New Year and encourage workers.

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training would like to inform owners and directors of enterprises/ establishments under the scope of provision of Labour Law that according to Labour Law and Prakas No.466 KB/Prk date on 03 November 2016 on Pay Public Holiday 2017, please allow your worker to take pay leave for the upcoming Khmer New Year for fourth days 14 th , 15 th, 16 th and 17th that replace 16th which is Sunday.

The Ministry would like to confirm that in the case of necessity that the enterprises/ establishments can’t suspend their operations during upcoming Khmer New year Day, the owners and directors of enterprises/ establishments shall negotiate with the workers for the voluntary work and shall allocate appropriate time and days of the holidays accordingly for the workers.

The worker who voluntarily works on these New Year’s days shall be entitled to additional pay which is equal to the wage on the normal working day.

If possible, the owners or directors of enterprises/ establishments should organize recreational games at their enterprises or establishments to celebrate the New Year’s Days and to encourage workers their work fulfillment.

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training hopes and believes the owners or directors of enterprises/ establishments will definitely and properly comply with this notification without failure.
